Shake, Rattle and Roll!!!

Well its official our little monkey is moving around like crazy in there!! I have been feeling small little movements for a little bit now but the past week it has increased in intensity and frequency! Aaron and I celebrated a weekend away in Newport RI for my birthday and the little one must have had a great time because this was when I first started feeling consistent movement. I think it already loves me because it moved all day on my birthday! I felt as if I was quiet all day because I was just in awe concentrating on every movement. I am not sure what exactly is triggering the baby's movements whether its mealtimes, my mood, or times of the day but its moves from 5-7pm every night without fail!! It also moves around lunchtime and when Aaron gets home from work around 11:30pm. Other than that I get a few rolls, kicks or wiggles of some sort a few times every hour. I have to say it is absolutely fascinating and I can't wait for it to be strong enough to share with Aaron. I keep putting my hand on my stomach hoping that I can feel it and share but so far I only feel it on the inside!

I cannot wait until Monday for our next ultrasound!!! I am hoping the little bugger lets us see whether its a he or a she!! eeeeeeeekkkkkkk

Sharing the News!!

SO here is the story of how we learned we were expecting:

I had a slight suspicion that I was pregnant mainly because Boomer was sniffing me incessantly! He would just sniff and lick me all the time but wasn't acting this way with Aaron. I decided to take a pregnancy test early to see because I couldn't wait any longer. It came back positive and my heart was racing!! Aaron was outside snowblowing so I waited what seemed like FOREVER for him to come in the house to show him. I announced that I had taken a pregnancy test and handed it to him. He immediately said "like I said you're NOT pregnant" hahaha I then told him it was two lines and because one of the lines was very very light he totally did not believe it haha. Aaron's rationale was that it 1. had been WAY to easy to get pregnant and 2. I hadn't thrown up yet. I made a doctors appt and waited the ten days to get to the doctors. The doctor of course told us we were pregnant and walking to the car Aaron was SOOOOO exicted. He of course was forced to admit that I was right and he was wrong!! :-)

Telling our siblings:
I secretly told my sister Christmas Eve and got to chat with her about the pregnancy until everyone else knew! She was the best secret keeper ever and has been such a great support to us! We are so lucky to have such good siblings!! Aaron's sisters are always around and supportive! We have two that can give us advice and one of the things I am most excited about is that my baby gets to be a cousin to Josh, Sophia, Molly and Coco!! Aaron's sister Jess made a post on facebook that read "My brother is reproducing God help us all!" hahaha I am still not sure if it is ok that I found this so comical! My brother has been checking in regularly and seeing how the little monkey is doing! Its so nice to feel like there are going to be so many people loving our baby! He or she is very lucky!!

Telling our parents:
We bought my dad a bottle of Old Grandad whiskey! He sort of looked at the bottle like "what the heck did Aaron get me this for" When I asked my dad what he thought that could mean his whole face lit up! Of course my mom was yelling and crying and it was such a fun scene! My dad has been dusting off his old coin collection to pass down to the little one I find this hysterical! My mom has been buying me maternity clothes and spoiling me which has been very fun!! Its nice to know that even though I'm going to be a mom I still get to be the child sometimes!
I would describe Aaron's mom's reaction as squealing!! haha Aaron calmly said "hey mom don't throw out those car seats you've got because you're going to need them!" And about 2 seconds later you hear a squeal, some clapping and a REALLY?? Aaron's mom has also been spoiling me! I am lucky to have such good Mom examples to model after! Our litte monkey is also lucky to have the best Dziadzia in the world watching out for him! We are sure that Aaron's dad is keeping a close eye on everything thats going on and we can't wait to see if the little one is anything like his grandfather!

Telling Boomer:
Well although I am fairly certain that Boomer has been in the know for quite some time I am not sure that he really knows what he is about to get into! I have explained to him that he is going to be a big brother!! I have taught him how to give the baby kisses- I say Boomer "where's your baby" and he pushes my belly with his nose and then I say "Boomer give the baby kisses!" and he licks my belly. I am sure those of you who are not dog lovers will find this disturbing but I think its adorable. Sometimes when he is acting crazy I tell him that he needs to be gently because of the baby and he tilts his head and calms down(well sometimes). I am very nervous about how this will go and welcome advice from others who have had dogs prior to having a baby.

Telling our friends:
We have slowly but surely been making the rounds to share the BIG news with everyone! I am totally blown away by how awesome everyone has been! I have shared the sound of the heartbeat and the ultrasound pictures and just can't believe that people get so excited with me! I think that is one of the main reasons that I decided to do the blog so that I can share with everyone and have a little keepsake for the baby!

Our Little Monkey!!!!

So we are so excited that we are going to have a little one join sometime around September 1st!!! I figured this would be a fun way to share some stories and pictures with all my family and friends who are too far to see us regularly!! We are so blessed to have so many people who are excited for us and we want to make sure to share this experience as best we can. I will be sure to post some pictures soon!- We have a few belly shots, though I wasn't very comfortable posing for these until I actually started showing! We have our ultrasound pictures! This was done a little after 13 weeks so the monkey looks like a REAL BABY!!!! He/She was waving away and either sucking its thumb or hand a lot. Very sweet. He/She did not like when the ultrasound tech kept poking at one spot and would roll over away from the scanner! We have also heard the heartbeat 3 times now!!! That was also a very exciting experience! At this point we are counting days the days until April 5th hoping that we will find out then if we are having a little BOY or a little GIRL!
